But write it off as pure flash and you miss the point. Underneath the gloss is a genuinely walkable Victorian village with serious dining, world-class culture next door, and a surprising amount of green space tucked between the towers. The Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area counts roughly 700 designer boutiques and over 1,200 businesses in the district. That density — luxury retail, hospitals, UofT affiliates, five-star hotels, and residential side streets — is why people pay premium rents to live here instead of somewhere with more square footage and fewer Hermès windows.

The stretch of Bloor Street West between Yonge and Avenue Road is nicknamed the Mink Mile, and it has the receipts to back up the name — it's regularly ranked among the most expensive retail real estate in North America.
